About the Local Area

We are situated only 100 yards approx. from Paignton Beach, the seafront, pier and close to the harbour and level walking distance of the town. There are plenty of good resuaurants and cafes very close by.

There are many fun family activities to enjoy in Paignton and also across the bay in Torquay and Brixham and the surrrounding areas.

Paignton Zoo
Paignton Zoo is home to thousands of amazing animals and plants. Visit the desert, cross the savannah, explore the forest and trek through the tropics. Use your senses to discover the wild world: look around, listen out - you’ll even need your sense of smell! It’s a great day out for everyone.

The Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway
The Railway runs along the spectacular Devonshire coastline. 'The Round Robin' is not to be missed.

Visit Splashdown at Quaywest - one of Britains biggest, wettest, wildest waterpark ~ great fun for all the family!

Paignton Beach
Paignton Sands is a long sandy beach, friendly atmosphere and great choice of facilities ideal for families. The shallow sea is ideal for paddling and with pedaloes and boats for hire, hours of fun can be had in the clean, safe waters. Entertainment is the key feature of this beach with activities and events guaranteed to entertain the family throughout the year.

Living Coasts - see the penguins swim! Torquay’s coastal zoo and conservation charity. Living Coasts is open from 10:00am every day.

Cockington Court and Village
The wonderfully preserved village of Cockington. Located between Paignton and Torquay, the perfect place to relax with a cream tea.

Babbacombe Model Village
Over 400 models. The original idea for the model village was to be a representation of an imaginary area of English countryside. English country life in an 'idealised' form, with distinct building styles of farms, country houses, lakes and waterfalls.

Paignton Harbour
Paignton Harbour is at the western end of Paignton. It has an understated beauty and authentic fishing haven feel and is definitely worth making the short walk from Paignton beach. Daily ferry services to Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth from Easter to September. Also a variety of fishing trips and pleasure cruises.

Buckfast Abbey, Buckfastleigh - Home to the Benedictine monks. No parking or admission charges. Filled with history. Famous for its stained glass, bee keeping and wine. Shopping, gardens and restaurant.

Brixham and the famous brixham harbour. Brixham Harbour is located on the southern aspect of Torbay and boasts one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK, plus a thriving fish market to support it.

Totnes - a unique, historic and picturesque place steeped in history - no trip to South Devon is complete without visiting Totnes. Totnes is a beautiful old Elizabethan market town famous for its rich artistic community. Totnes nestles in the Dart Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
